"Broken Dreams" by Robert Brown What do you do When all your dreams Have broken beyond repair? When all your hopes Have scattered to the Four Winds? When you have nothing left To look forward to What do you do? Do you give up? Accept that you will never have What you desire or What you deserve? Mire yourself in Depression All to end your struggles? Is the peace found by acceptance worth Imprisoning yourself in Despair? Do you set your sights lower? Accept only what is given to you or What hangs neatly Within your easy grasp? Coast through your days With only a minimum of Effort? Is the ease of mediocrity worth Surviving instead of Living? Do you set your sights higher? Accept nothing but the best Never stop dreaming or Striving for more? Putting yourself on the line On the mere chance of reaching your Goal? Is the reward you seek worth The risks you face to Achieve it? Three paths lie before you One leads quickly down into the Depths One runs off toward the Neverending Horizon One climbs precariously toward the Stars Which path will you take? Which path can you take? Or will you turn your back on all three And make your own Way?
